AL GORE SLAMS TRUMP IN STATEMENT AND MOCKS HIM IN NEW DOCUMENTARY ‘AN INCONVENIENT SEQUEL’
Nobel Peace Prize laureate and former Vice President Al Gore threw a double whammy at Donald Trump this week.
After Trump penned his executive order on Tuesday, essentially rolling back environmental protections and pulling America’s support from the international fight on climate change, Gore released a statement with a personal jab at Trump saying no one man or group can stop the momentum in this battle to save the planet.
Back in 2006, Al Gore and Davis Guggenheim released a film about climate change called An Inconvenient Truth. The piece won Best Documentary at the Oscars (as well as a Grammy) and on Tuesday the same team released a sequel called, An Inconvenient Sequel (See trailer below).
It’s all very inconvenient for Donald Trump and the timing for the Resistance couldn’t be better. Here is the statement by former Vice President Al Gore.
March 28, 2017
“Today’s executive order, directing the Environmental Protection Agency to begin rolling back environmental protections and policies including the Clean Power Plan, is a misguided step away from a sustainable, carbon-free future for ourselves and generations to come. It is essential, not only to our planet, but also to our economic future, that the United States continues to serve as a global leader in solving the climate crisis by transitioning to clean energy, a transition that will continue to gain speed due to the increasing competiveness of solar and wind.
No matter how discouraging this executive order may be, we must, we can, and we will solve the climate crisis. No one man or group can stop the encouraging and escalating momentum we are experiencing in the fight to protect our planet.”
Here is the official trailer for An Inconvenient Sequel: Truth to Power, on Paramount Pictures.
Thank you, once again, to Al Gore and all those who have continued their relentless fight to save and protect our climate, our environment, and our earth in the face of right-wing extremist ridicule, slander and lies.
As an aside, Republicans have been fighting Gore and denying climate change for years. In this TYT clip, Tennessee Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn tries to “gotcha” Al Gore and fails miserably, twice. Blackburn ultimately reveals, all the more, how Al Gore is committed to the climate change battle and to the truth.
