SHANTY MEGASTRUCTURES ENVISIONS A COLOSSAL VERTICAL SLUM IN THE HEART OF LAGOS
The towers of the imaginary city are intertwined with improvised structures, patches of weathered materials, all linked by a network of roller coasters. The project takes its name from the phrase “Shanty town”, which describes improvised housing developments usually located on the outskirts of cities. This type of development in Lagos is located near the Atlantic Ocean, where architect Kunlé Adeyemi built his highly publicized floating school.
