6 FAB MOBILE OFFICES LET YOU DITCH THE CUBICLE FOR THE OPEN ROAD
#dojowheel by FIVE AM
Belgian-based studio FIVE AM designed the #dojowheel, a mobile office that’s so chic and modern we wouldn’t even mind if it were permanently stationary. The retro-chic office combines the efficient minimalism of a Japanese dojo with the spirit of nomadic Bedouin culture into an all-white round-edged camper outfitted with transforming furniture. The #dojowheel can even transform from office to bedroom—how cool is that?
Tiny office on wheels by Ikke en Pind
Danish designer Jonas “Pindhund” Hallberg of Ikke en Pind wanted a way to get closer to his clients, so he built the Tiny Office, a transportable space that’s both cozy and professional. The compact office on wheels may be small—it’s been classified and approved as a trailer by the Public Transport Authority—but it packs a lot of amenities inside, from a mini bookshelf and table to a wood-burning stove.
Future of Automobility by IDEO
Self-driving cars are now on the horizon and IDEO couldn’t resist pitching their own vision with a mobile workplace as part of their “Future of Automobility” series. Clad in glass with contemporary vibes, this self-driving workspace could whisk you from location to location and let you meet with clients simultaneously.
Kantoor Karavaan micro-offices
If you want to get closer to the outdoors with an office that blends right into the landscape, you’ll love the mobile micro-offices designed by Dutch company Kantoor Karavaan. Clad in timber, this cozy and compact office looks right at home in the woods or next to a campsite. Each office is equipped with solar-powered coffee machines and WiFi.
MOSS by Victor Vetterlein
For an off-the-grid office option, consider MOSS, a prefabricated home office powered by clean and renewable energy. Designed by Victor Vetterlein, MOSS is a well-insulated structure that boasts an array of energy-efficient features, including rooftop solar, a wind turbine, a well-insulated frame, and radiant underfloor heating.
Mobile office by Studio106
The architects of Studio106 took their computers and construction documents on the road in a semi-converted caravan they transformed into an office. The tiny but functional nine-square-meter micro-office contains only the bare necessities—coffee station included, of course—and can comfortably accommodate four people at a time. The camper even comes with an outdoor deck to expand its footprint into the outdoors.
