Defend Rooftop Solar in California

The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is considering a proposed decision to gut our state’s bedrock solar policy, net metering, which compensates solar panel owners for the excess electricity that they send back to the grid.

The current proposed decision would penalize solar customers with a solar tax of $57 per month on average, while reducing the amount that solar customers are paid for their extra electricity that is sent back to the grid by about 88%. This proposed decision would also remove current solar customers from the net metering rates five years earlier than promised.

RSVP to provide a public comment in person or via phone to ask the CPUC to save rooftop solar and remove any solar tax during their April 7 meeting at 11:00 a.m. PT. We will send you an email with information on participating in the meeting and tips for your public comment.
